David,
I bought GPO3 from McMaster-Carr and use it in my RSG. It's wonderful
stuff, and cheaper than GPO10. Do a search for part number 8549K342 for a
12 x 12 x 1/4 inch sheet. I used 3/8 inch GPO3 (cost about $10) and found
it machines well. If you cut your rotor approximately round with a sabre
saw with a metal cutting blade, then mount the rotor in your final arbor in
such a way that it slightly contacts a small diameter grinding wheel (e.g.
mounted in a drill press), you can carefully hand-rotate the rotor and grind
it to a high degree of roundness and balance. Be careful when doing this &
keep the grinding wheel turning fairly slowly.
