Hey Eric,

First, look for a couple wood shims between the windings ans lams. If there
then knock them out. Get something sharp and thin. (I use a sharpened
hacksaw blade with the teeth ground off) Place the "knife" between the lams
and tap with a hammer all around the lamination. After a while you'll settle
into your own method of doing this. Each transformer seems to have it's own
"feel" depending on how well the lams are stuck together.
