Many tubes types behave similarly in a tube coil.  In my standard
small VTTC, I've tested various tubes.  The 833A, 845's, 810, 813,
300HF, 200HF, etc, all gave similar spark lengths of about 19"
with a single tube.  I didn't alter any of the component
values when using the various tubes for these tests.  Possibly a slight
alteration in values may have provided some benefit.  Generally
the grid leak resistor will be somewhere between 1500 ohms and
12,000 ohms.  It's helpful to use an adjustable resistor, or have
a selection of resistors available.  Steve Ward has some VTTC
