I have a secondary on a 3.17" form (shellacked cardboard mailing tube
with outer and inner layers peeled off), about 1000 turns of #30, which
works just fine. Unloaded resonant frequency is about 360 kHz. 30"
streamers using a 9 kV, 60 ma transformer and 10" x 3" diameter toroid
on top and I'm sure I could do much better if I moved it where the
ceiling wasn't so close.
