Line Filters...

All,

I am preparing for an upcoming demonstration of my 6" system to the local
amateur radio club. The demo will likely take place at the building
housing the local 2 meter repeater and packet radio digipeater. Naturally
this brings up the concern of ensuring that the coil is operated far enough
away so that the e-field is clear of the aforementioned equipment and that
proper line filters are in place. As seen on my website, I have run the
720 watt coil (single 12/60 NST) indoors, about 30 feet away from my lab
(sporting 7 computers and plenty of test equipment and radios) with no
equipment failures or computer lockup. Plus, rarely is TVI noticed on a
running television elsewhere in the house, and when present is quite
minimal. I guess I should try "looking" at the line signal with a scope
while the coil is running to see what kind of parasitics show up. In the
meantime, I think I will invest in a line filter to use during the
demonstratio! n...if nothing else, to ease the mind of the repeater
trustees, etc.

I saw this line filter on ebay and was wondering if it would be suitable
for my 12/60 disruptive TC system.
