RE: Highest secondary to spark length ratio?
Original poster: "Mccauley, Daniel H" <daniel.h.mccauley-at-lmco-dot-com>
I believe Richard Hull has you all beat. Not a tesla coil in the
classic sense, but a magnifier. One of his
later magnifier designs has something like a 12" to 15" height resonator
coil putting out arcs at about 10 feet.
That more than a 8:1 ratio. Most of his magnifier designs (especially
the later ones) were putting out more than
5:1 spark to height ratios.

Peter,
My 6" coil, quite similar to yours, does 104" sparks with a 27.6"
winding
length for a ratio of 3.77.
