Hi,
The scrap yard I got to has had about half a dozen x-ray machines and
probably the same amount of cat scan machines and some other various peices
of medical equipment all with power cabinets and control panels. Most of the
equipment is roughly 10-20yrs old. I have found a ton of HE-NE lasers, there
is about 6 per cat scan machine. There is also no shortage 30A ganged
variacs either. In all that I only found one 1.6kv cap. My website has
pictures from the scrapyard of the piles of equipment. The pictures are in
the link labeled finds. So I haven't had much luck with that as a source of
HV caps.
