Hmmm. I've been overrating a Terry (Panasonic) MMC
for about 5 years now of quite frequent coil use. No
problem. No diminished capacitance, no decreased arc
length. I have a maxwell. It works fine, but no
better than the MMC, in fact the longest arcs were
measured during an MMC run.
What is your evidence for the above statement
regarding overrating MMC's? I would like to see your
web page, and/or possibly read your coil specs. What
about data? Computer simulations.....arc lengths?
Coilers on this list know to a high degree of
certainty (due to failure mode testing) that MMC's
tend to survive being pushed somewhat beyond their
ratings. You may benefit from a little more reading
on this subject.
