Re: Looking for a Transformer

All,
Last time I looked on ebay for NST's the prices were
ridiculous. Used 12 and 15/60's going for 80 dollars
and above. I bought my 12/60 France NST from a local
dealer for 30 dollars and it has worked for over 4
years of abuse in my six inch system. No filter, no
safety gaps, no chokes, resonant (and LTR) cap, and
occational wide open static gap.
Anyway, I would advise people on the list who aren't
able to spend a lot of money to check dumpsters at
neon places, and look around a bit before they shell
out 80 or more bucks for a 60ma NST. And remember,
OBIT's are a good place to start...and many have found
them for free or very cheap by scavenging them from
landfills and scrap yards.
