I've built a single MOT coil too, using two stacked voltage doublers driving
a DC resonant charging circuit. This gave a final charging voltage of 20kV
for the tank cap. It worked fine (1kW, 40" sparks) but it was a bit
expensive to buy all the caps and diodes for the voltage multiplier, and it
took a long time to solder them all together. It would probably be cheaper
just getting 4 MOTs, or going with one of the two MOT/two cap circuits Greg
Hunter built.
