I cooked a Fluke 77 once, and found that the problem
was a big fat resister that basically acts like a
fuse. I paid more for shipping than for the actual
part. If Terry's idea doesn't pan out, just open the
case and see if you have a large resister near the
lead jacks. Of course, you'll need another DMM to
check this.
