Hey,

Chester Lowrey used some trench gate IGBTs in a SSTC. The CM150DU-12H are 
the IGBTs I use in my
DRSSTC. The non trench gate IGBTs need higher gate voltage to stand the 
high current peaks. The
CM150DU-12F ones have internal current protection that sorta gets rid of 
this benefit.

There are some trench gate IGBTs that do not have the current limiting.
