What is the length of the secondary Winding? And what is the diameter of
the pipe that's its wound on?
Same goes for the primary? How many turns are on your primary?
What are you using for a spark gap?
What is your primary voltage? What are you using as your primary
transformer etc.
With the limited information you have giving there are lots of things
that could be wrong. Quite likely you could be over coupling.
BTW, where abouts in Australia are you from? I am from Toowoomba, Qld.
