ha, i shoulda known better,
comparing pigs to nst's is like
comparing diesel engines to gas engines.
just talked to a sparky friend of mine here in aus
about those ratings, it does seem a tad over the top to me
but he said he knows of a few transformers locally that
run stupid overratings to clients they are supplying, one
tranny rated 40A is running an ice making\freezing plant
at 63A 24\7 plus other houses. the electric co here
works on diversity, the fact that not all clients are pulling
anywhere near max load all the time and less chance all
at once. if it does happen then the time it's destructivly overloaded
for will determine if she blows or not, hence probably why the odd
pig spits the dummy every now and then, if it aint broke it may never happen
so don't fix it, if it does break, big deal, just put a bigger one on.
:)))))))))
