Corona Ring for Magnifier - Will standard center-filled low-profile toroid work???

I'm currently building a small magnifier (less than 5kW design) and was
currently working on the physical design.

Anyways, will a corona ring built like a toroid (filled center) work okay.
For example, a 2 inch cord diameter by 24" total diameter.  Or does this
type of corona shield
have to much terminal capacitance for use with a magnifier.
