Hi Chris,
Yes, connect the NST chassis to RF gnd and NOT to mains ground. You dont
want to run any chance of Secondary ARC return currents returning thru the
main power distribution and its safety ground. Other equipment is connected
to these mains ground and the nature of these arc return currents can cause
voltage differences between different mains ground nodes and damage and
damage equipment. Also spikes can show up in mains power that can damage
unprotected power supplies of other equipment. An EMI filter between the
NST and the mains power will help keep common mode stuff caused by any jump
in the RF gnd the the NST is connected to from getting on the power mains.
