Interesting, but there is more then what is on that page. If you scroll 
down and click the link "Tesla coil" it will bring you to another page that 
explains why TC's are not used in linacs.

That picture is also available on page 25 of

by R.A. Ford. Page 26 has a photo of the actual coil.
