Yes, elliptic curve theory is one of the most beautiful chapters in
mathematics.
One can get pretty far into this subject before having to wade through the
deep
waters of modern algebraic geometry. Your interest in elliptic curve theory
must
stem from cryptography. A new book "Elliptic Curves: Number Theory and
