Hi John,
Yep, I've looked at this one w/ interest, but there is one thing
about the specs that are a "red flag" to me. The very last line
under the secondary output rating of the transformer says,
"cycles : 2 to 3K" and I must assume that this means 2000
to 3000 Hz, which would render it pretty much useless to
those of us that depend on the utility power grid's 60 Hz (or
50 Hz in Europe or Australia). It may work at a considerably
reduced voltage from its rating but would quickly "let out the
smoke" if attached to 214 VAC -at- 50/60 Hz. BTW, 214 volts
sure seems like a strange input voltage rating, doesn't it?
Funny thing though, it seems to be plenty massive enough
to handle 2.2 kVA -at- 60 Hz (130 lbs.) even if it's oil-filled
(it appears to be from the pics).?
