Turning A Coil !!

Hello List:-)

I'm new to Tesla Coils. I understand using a lath is the best way to turn a 
long secondary coil.
I tend to lean towards,  inspector gadget,(the more tools, the better). I 
know, I could cobble together a
wooden frame, to mount the coil with form. Anyway, any help is appreciated.
