810 Tubes for Audio Modulation ? ? ?
Original poster: "by way of Terry Fritz <teslalist-at-qwest-dot-net>" <dhmccauley-at-spacecatlighting-dot-com>
After a full day of experimenting with a variety of grid modulation
techniques, i'm ready to scrap it and go for some serious high side (plate
modulation) to get some decent audio
quality for my dual 833A VTTC.
I already have a nice RCA modulation transformer with built in spark gaps
etc... (which I think was even designed for the 810 tubes) but was wondering
if the 810
is a decent tube to begin with or should I invest in some 833 tubes??? I
already have (2) good 810 tubes that were given to me. Obviously i wouldn't
be able to run
at the power levels the 833A VTTC could handle, but i would run at lower
power levels.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks
The Captain
