Tuning and maximizing performance of dual 833A VTTC

Well, finally got my dual 833A VTTC finished and had my first run this
evening. Things worked like a charm the first time however spark output was
only about
6-7 inches. Not that I'm complaining. I'm happy it was at least working.
Anyways for those of you who already have experience with the dual 833A (or
similar) coils, I'd
be interesting in learning what kinds of techniques and/or what order to do
them in as far as tuning and maximizing performance of the coil is. I know
at least Steve Ward and John
Freau have a lot of experience with the dual 833A.

There are lots of things to do, but perhaps a more systematic approach from
your experiences would work best?

1. Change size of voltage level shifter capacitor (currently intentionally
low at 0.86uF)

2. Vary size of grid leak resistor

3. Vary number of grid feedback coil turns, position, and coupling

4. Fine tune primary tank circuit resonant frequency

Thanks!
