Hi,

On the last Sunday of every month, we Denver area coilers gather in the 
evening for our monthly high voltage meeting.  Tesla coils and other high 
current/voltage things a plentiful.  Also, other strange science things of 
interest are common.  If any local (Denver, Colorado, USA) people are 
interested let me know and I'll get you the directions and time.
