Steve/jimmy; I do not have your circuit, but I do like to imagin and share
with you as you work out your problems as I learn from your work. Just as a
thought , When I built computers I found that each chip required a o.1u
capacitor across the ground and power to prevent ground loop problems. The
short distance between chips was long enough to cause problems so a
capacitor on each chip was required. What you are seeing could be a similar
effect caused by lead lenght and current loops.
