Re: Joining two rolls of wire on the secondary coil
Original poster: "Ralph Zekelman by way of Terry Fritz <teslalist-at-qwest-dot-net>" <gridleak-at-bluemarble-dot-net>
I've spent 3 hours winding already and I don't want to go further if
the solder joint will somehow mess things up. I can't imagine why it
would, but this is my first coil and I know squat!
Please help!

Scrape the wires to be joined absolutely clean. Try to scrape
slight flats to get a little surface area. You have to sorta microsolder
them. I would practice a little and the splice should be no problem. Try to
put the splice towards the low end of the coil. Three hours plus to wind a
coil is too long. You can easily
build some sort of coil winder.
