RE: lake ground?

No need to go to such an elaborate scheme.  Just get some chickenwire and
make a counterpoise type ground.  Basically putting large pieces of
chickenwire under your coil flat on the ground and attaching your secondary
ground to this.  I don't have any experience with these types of grounds,
but i'm sure others on the list can provide you with more information.
