Hear hear! Single shot spark length has a very low dependence on
energy and a very high dependence on voltage (in repetitive
operation, those dependencies change considerably). You can easily
see this for yourself by changing the output voltage of the coil by
using different topload capacitances while maintaining the same
primary energy.
