You should be able to find 1/8" or 1/16" x 1" bar stock at a metal supply
place. Copper's fairly dense, and not particularly cheap as far as metals
go, but it shouldn't cost much more than the same weight of copper tubing.
McMaster-Carr: 6 foot lengths 1x1/16 $9.12, 1x1/8" $16
A place that does seamless gutters in copper will also have the stuff as
roof flashing, which I think comes as 0.021 inch nominal thickness (16
oz/square foot), ( found it online at $67.49 roll for 14"x10ft roll mail
order from Aubuchon Hardware or "DoitBest")
Also, that price sounds awfully like some specialized thick foil product.
