grounding

Original poster: "Richard Modistach" <hambone-at-dodo-dot-com.au>

hi all,

i see how grounding is important to a coil,
for safety and efficency,
one thing i'm a tad stuck on is with the saftey gap,
from what i can see the nst is centre tapped to the outer metal case,
there is an earth lug for the power supply to connect to for
standard electrical safety, yet this centre tap forms the centre electrode
for the saftey gap which is of course connected to secondary coil ground,
going by "do not connect secondary ground to mains ground", i assume
the mains supply ground to the xfmr should be left off.
is this correct?
