Hi all,
Finally got my order of 60 x 942C20P15K 0.15uF 2000V caps from Richardson
Electronics here in Sydney. Woo hoo. Starting to build my MMC this
afternoon. 5 strings of 12 caps per string. Seperate units for playing
with capacitance values between about 25nF and 67nF.
A question to the list if I may. I have checked my supply of resistors, and
on hand I have enough (60) 10M resistors in both 1/2W metal film, and 1W
carbon film. Which would be best ? It is just that the Geek Group says
that 1/2W 10M carbon film are best. Maybe I am being paranoid. If 1/2W
carbon is OK, then surely 1W carbon is OK (or even better?) too ? The metal
film's, even though rated as 1/2W are small and the same size as standard
1/4W carbon, and I thought, hmmm, maybe too small to be safe.
Any comments, or should I just shut up, stop being fickle, and go and build
my MMC with the 1W carbon resistor bleeders ...
Rgs
