It's time that the correct word of "hygroscopic" be used when talking about
things absorbing moisture from the air, not hydroscopic, whatever that even
means.

Quite right Ken,
1) hydroscopic adj. having to do with, or made with a hydroscope.
hydroscope n. a device for viewing below the surface of the sea.
2) hygroscopic adj. absorbing or attracting moisture from the air.
However, considering the disdain, or utter disregard for spelling, grammar,
and proper usage shown by most English-speaking internet users, this
malapropism seems a relatively small sin. ;-)
