I suspect the greatest worry is the secondary spark end rather than the
mains filtering.
I used a Faraday cage for my school display. A real pain to make (mine was
8x8 ft with 6 sides and had to be dismantled to fit through a door).

I would not feel safe using computer equipment around an operating coil
without one, although a lot of people anecdotally have had no problems. The
RF ground is the Faraday cage.
