Hi, some of the "castor oil/additives" have some solvent type chemistry
used, some just smells like castor oil, and some has a odor as you
described. I had a stinky cap, stripped the grey paint off it and now it
doesnt smell at all. i dont know if it was the paint or perhaps some fluid
from the cap mixed with the paint. cul brian f.
