Yes, it would be interesting to try that. The pulse caps
can take a lot of abuse if they're reasonable quality. I've run
my 45 kV rated caps with pretty high voltages up to 40kV peak or
so, but at lower powers of 1000 watts or so. Checking for
heating is a good guide to what's happening. TC use is
intermittent, so that's a plus on your side.
