Re: Toroid size for 9" coil?

24 x 6 inch toroid will produce 6.5 to 7 ft. sparks with this setup (our
sec. is 8.5 inch OD).
No reason at all to run 15,000 RPM. We run our PT setup at 1725 RPM with 6
electrodes on a 9.5 inch dia. circle (wheel is 10.5 dia.). This provides
173.5 bks/sec and a nice output spark. If you run the RSG too fast your
power supply won't have enough power to recharge the cap between firings.
The result is long stringy (read ugly) looking sparks. You could run
bks/sec up to 400 but nothing much gained above this value.
