80 kV wire is hard to come by.  Auto ignition wire will be good to about
30-40 kV safely, but if you actually need 80 kV, you need to think about
something pretty fancy, with semiconducting layers, multiple grading
shields, etc. Tiny voids in the insulation will inevitably lead to
breakdown, particularly with AC.

Do you actually need insulated wire at this voltage.  What about using
something like copper or aluminum tubing?

In fact at 80 kV, you should be seriously thinking about immersing the
circuit in oil or pressurized gas.  Even 1" diameter tubing will have corona
inception at half that voltage in air, and that's if it's perfectly clean,
polished, etc.  In oil, though, something like 3/8" or 1/2" OD tubing will
work quite nicely.  SF6 or Freon will also work.

I suggest downloading the North report from hot-streamer-dot-com and reading it
thoroughly.  It's all about building high power microwave transmitters,
which is essentially what you're up to, and it's got lots of invaluable
practical construction info.
