Hi, yep beryllium oxide and other exotic ceramic like materials, the dust
from this material is considered toxic, its best to leave it intact....also
many transmitting tubes with "Ceramic" seals are made of the same type
materials only its usually white in color. Machining Beryllium in the
machine shop can be toxic if not done carefully. Some people show rash like
reactions just from touching Beryllium metal..cul brian f.
