I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your use of plywood as a
"substrate" for your surface-mount R-C filter may pose a problem. Others
have tried this and eventually encountered difficulties with surface
tracking or arcing along the glue-lines between the plywood laminations. The
polyurethane coating is no good if the wood underneath carbonizes.You'd be
much better off using phenolic or even an inexpensive polyethylene cutting
board as a substrate. A 12" X 18" X 1/2" thick polyethylene cutting board
can be bought for less than $10.
