Dan:
I built my coil with the sole purpose of producing reasonable arcs/streamers
in the closed environs of a haunted house and being as portable as possible.
It is a 6" sec with a 15/60 NST and t-gap. It produces 3-4 foot
arcs/streamers.
The NST, RF filter and all input stuff is in a separate box. That box
connects with 3 foot HV cables to the Fritz Filter. The FF is located along
with the MMC, T-gap and connection plates (all using PL-255 connections) on
a 2' x 2' base cabinet. The PVC secondary screws in.
The Power box is about 50 pounds. Big rubber coated steel bar handle and
casters.
The cabinet is about 10 pounds.
The secondary is bet. 5 and 10.
Very portable. Sets up in 10 minutes.
See

for a couple of decent overall photos. Maybe you'll get some cabinet layout
ideas.
Safety First.

Dan,
How long do you want the sparks to be?
