With all due respect, I am not an idiot. I told them I had a failed core and
asked if a replacement is possible. No mention of coiling was made......Are
you KIDDING??, No Way!

They said they were not willing to replace only the core and that was that.
I then went on to discuss pricing and shipping info for a complete unit. No
bitching or complaining about the failure. Read Donald Trump's "The Art of
the Deal".

Competely routine, plus this guy could not have been less interested. Total
lethargy.

In any case, I'm probably going to get a new PDT from Dr Resonance. 10
kVA--about 200 clams including shipping. T&R wants 290 with problematic
shipping.

Finally---note that I found water and chunks of rusty crap in this Pig.
Logic dictates that it was there when I received the unit. This makes me
leery of T&R, but I know many coilers have purchased Pigs from them, and
that such distributers are quite rare.

Just a note of caution. Since T&R again seems to be willing to sell pigs for
Tesla coil use, let us be careful not to antagonize them by asking for
replacements, etc.. Even though the transformer may have indeed been
defective, I think it would be wiser just to eat one every now and then than
to beat up on them because one of their tranformers failed under Tesla coil
duty. I bought mine from T&R about a year ago and I want to keep them as a
reliable supplier.
