I am a firefighter too. We recently got an IR gun with the help of some
grant $. I hadn't thought about looking at a TC but would certainly be
interesting. I was planning to do a training class on electricity some time
in the future, which would of course include a Tesla Coil demonstration. We
are suppose to get a VCR attachment for the gun and could video the
'inspection' of the coil. I would like to see it while it was running and
then shortly after it was turned off.
It would seem possible to borrow one, anong with someone to operate it, from
your local fire department. The guys always like to play with their toys.
