Dan, If you plan to ever drive 10 kVA, I would strongly suggest at least
1/2" copper tubing for your primary. My 10 kVA piggy powered coil uses
5/8" copper tubing for the primary and this may be slight overkill on my
part, but I'd rather ere on the side of too big than too small :-)
