how to measure xfmr output?

Original poster: "Laurence Davis by way of Terry Fritz <twftesla-at-qwest-dot-net>" <meknar-at-hotmail-dot-com>

I have a large hv dc power supply that I received awhile ago.
I'd like to take out the transformer and perhaps use it in tesla use.
The power supply is 30kv. Can't remember the current rating, but there
is a current meter on it. its adjustable in both current and voltage.
Made by hipotronics.

I have a meter with a high voltage probe. this thing is monsterously
heavy. probably in excess of 75 pounds. I don't think the transformer has
any markings on it, but i could be wrong. is there a way that i can test it
to find out its current output? i would test the power supply, but it
requires a large bnc style connector for the output. I don't have the patch
cable required to connect to it.

any ideas?
