actually you don't need this - Richie simply superimposed his signal on the
50Hz - it was quite recognisable. The aim is just a novelty, not hifi.

Remember that if you do use a smoothed supply then the FETs will be
processing
about 50% more power - don't try it with any FETs that you can't afford to
blow.

Also the audio will cause the FETs to switch off earlier in the cycle, ie
at the maximum
current point rather than the minimum current point. Richie was using a
square wave as the Audio,
so it was just an on off, but with a CD audio source you will dramatically
increase the switching
losses.

I would be inclined to try this just witth the smaller driver rather than
the expensive one.
