Triggered Gap Idea

I was thinking, would it be pracitical to make a seriesied triggered gap. 
Instead of one large spaced triggere'd gap could several smaller spaced 
triggered gaps be placed in series with the trigger electrodes all getting 
power from the same ignition coil output. Or would it just be better to use 
one triggered gap in series with several small spaced static gaps?
