Dan,
What is the thickness of the thickest shim in your feeler gauge set?

Why not just buy a nice set of feeler gauges instead. Much more
inexpensive, much less clumsy to use,
and much more compact then using drill bits . . . i have feeler gauges i
purchased for $5.00 that go up to
0.50" from local suppliers.

Hello Coilers,
This is so obvious but I'll toss it in just for the record in case
the idea never came to mind for others. You can't beat a nice set
of drills in 1/64" increments for a fine set of feeler gauges that
makes setting the main and safety gaps consistantly easy as pie.
