	Arc/spark breakdown is routinely used to
	generate spectra for automated analysis, have been
	for decades.

	Spark over voltage, as such, varies with LOTS of
	things (temperature, pressure, electrode shape,
	cleanliness and shape of electrodes) to make the
	sparkover useful.  Also, once it sparks over
	for the lowest voltage component of a mix, the
	instrument is blind to other components.
