SCR wire question

Hi List,
I have 8 SCRs, 161RM60, rated at 160 amps, ( It max=195 amps ) -at- 600 volts.
I've tested them and all work as expected.
These are the stud type but along with the small gauge white gate wire 
there is also a similar gauge red wire. Does anyone have any idea what this 
red wire is for?
