Danny,
Rattling copper pipes sounds like a water valve (solenoid) getting turned
on and off rapidly. Possibly on your dishwasher or maybe automatic lawn
sprinklers. Try unplugging suspect devices to locate the
problem. Sometimes when I run my coil in the basement, the dishwasher
upstairs is started. This happened frequently when I had discharges
directly to a cold water pipe. I added a grounded wire a couple of inches
below the pipe to resolve the problem.
I have also had a problem with the coil in the basement screwing up my air
pressure settings in my air mattress bed two floors above the coil. This
turned out to be a conducted emissions problem (even though I have an RFI
filter on the AC supply to the coil). I finally found one of those AC
power strips for computers to plug the bed controller into that provides
enough filtering to solve the problem.
