Hi Winston
I believe tungsten or Tunsten Carbide will be much more durable.
For static electrodes I've had Tungsten carbide brazed onto Brass rod
For rotary tungsten rod held captive in steel bolts is my method, others put
tungsten thru the rotor and secure with grub screws. I get them commercially
ground to length for balance. The stuff is east to buy at welding outlets
in6" or 7" lengths
Wear is not a problem at 4kva using 5mm dia on the rotary and 10mm dia on
the stationaries
Best
